Sweetheart Brownie Surprise

Do you still need a treat for the Sweetheart in your life?  Be it your Spouse, Children, Parents, Significant Other, Teacher, Classmates, Friends, etc.  I have the treat for you!

I have a super easy and fast treat that is still homemade and delicious.  Looks gorgeous too!

These cute brownies are filled with a Reese's heart (the surprise) and baked in silicone cups for easy baking and cleanup.

So don't worry, you still have plenty of time between today and tomorrow to run out and grab what you need.

You never know, you MIGHT just have the ingredients already in the cupboard :)

Here's what you need:

1 box brownie mix, I use Betty Crocker Original Supreme with the syrup pouch
Eggs, water, and oil to make the brownies
12 Reese's Heart Shaped Candies, unwrapped
12 Silicone Heart Baking Cups

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a small baking sheet with the silicone baking cups and spray them with cooking spray.  Set aside.
Pour all the brownie ingredients into a stand mixer or medium bowl and mix for 2 minutes until smooth.

Scoop about 2 tablespoon (I use a Pampered Chef medium scoop) of the brownie batter into the bottom of each cup then place one Reese's Heart on top of the batter.

Place another 2 tablespoons or 1 medium scoop of batter on top of the heart to cover.  I had just the perfect amount of batter to make exactly 12 brownie hearts.
Bake for 20 - 24 minutes. After 20 minutes I push VERY LIGHTLY with my fingertips on the top of the brownie to make sure it's not squishy.  I didn't want to use a toothpick because of the candy center.  20 minutes was a little underdone and 24 was perfect.

I have decided I LOVE these silicone baking cups.  They are super easy to clean up and you don't need a special pan, they sit right on a baking tray and never loose their shape.

Here is the finished brownie....... and here is the surprise inside
