Banana Nut Donuts with Cream Cheese Frosting

Do I really need to say anything other than Banana Nut Donuts with Cream Cheese Glaze?!

I mean really, who doesn't love a good banana flavored baked good?

I get so tired of all the banana bread when the bananas are over ripe that I decided to try making them into baked donuts instead.

And beings as they are SO good for you, being baked and all, I thought why not add a dollop of cream cheese glaze right on the top!

Oh my goodness!  These are amazing and you NEED them in your life!

So cheers to creative reasoning, now go make some donuts, your family is waiting!

Peanut Butter & Jelly Donuts

I've been on a baked donut kick lately.  But that's okay because they're baked!  Right? (nod your head)

I found this amazing recipe for Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Donuts over at Crazy for Crust and decided that peanut butter donuts sounded great to me.  But being a "not totally crazy about chocolate person" I adapted Dorothy's recipe to fit what I was making and boy oh boy did the end result please the taste buds.

Not that I won't be making those Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Donuts real soon, because I will!

Now, what goes best with peanut butter, besides chocolate, of course?

Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

Do you love donuts?

My family loves donuts.  Most people I know love donuts.  Even my dog loves donuts (but then he eats most anything, lol)

I didn't used to love donuts.

I never really COULD eat donuts because the store bought ones ALWAYS give me a headache. I don't know why they do, but they do so I'm just not a donut eater.

But boy do I love donuts now!

Ever since I started making donuts at home; the baked kind, no more donuty headaches!  Yea me :) Boo waistline!

Last week I really had a hankering for something cinnamon sugary but the only donuts I have recipes from are my Funfetti Donuts  and my Pumpkin Spice Donuts.

So I decided to revamp my Pumpkin Spice Donuts into some Cinnamon Sugar donuts.

Apple Fritters {Buñuelos de Manzana}

Don't you just love all the projects that your kids have to do for school these days?  I don't remember having to do half the projects let alone 1/4 of the homework!  It's downright exhausting!

My son is in his second year of Spanish and always elects to do a cooking project for his Cultural Project Research (CPR - and not the life saving kind that my husband always thinks they're doing, lol) and guess who he always asks to help him do the cooking :)

Pumpkin Spice Baked Donuts

I have been trying out my new donut pan a little more and more every week and I decided to try a recipe for Pumpkin Spice Baked Donuts.  I slightly adapted this recipe from Blue-Eyed Bakers and made some of these amazing donuts a few weeks ago.

Funfetti Donuts

Well I finally hopped on the donut bandwagon.  I bought two large and one mini donut pan and have been trying baked donut recipes like crazy.  My favorite to make (and my hubby and Shelley's favorite) are by far the Funfetti ones I came up with a few weeks ago.  If you love donuts, you'll love these.

Here's what you need:

2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup buttermilk or whole milk
1 egg
1/3 cup canola or vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup sprinkles

Glaze and topping

1 cup powdered sugar
1-1/2 Tbs. milk, whole
1 tsp. vanilla

3/4 cup sprinkles

Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.  Spray two large donut pans with cooking spray and set aside.
In a bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer whisk together oil, sugar, egg, vanilla, and buttermilk until combined.

Next, dump in the flour mixture and stir until smooth.
Pour in the 1/4 cup of sprinkles and stir to combine.
Scrape the dough into a zip bag (I used a quart size) then zip closed, forcing the air out as you go.
Snip off a small corner piece and fill each well almost all the way full.  It should make 12.
Bake for 9-11 minutes for regular size and 6-8 minutes for the mini size.
When the donuts are done they will spring back when gently pressed with your finger.
Remove from oven and turn out onto a wire cooling rack to cool.

While donuts are cooling mix the glaze by pouring the powdered sugar into a bowl and adding the vanilla and milk and stirring until completely smooth.  If too runny add a Tablespoon more of powdered sugar at a time until the right consistency.  If too thick add a teaspoon more of milk at a time until the right consistency.

In another dish pour the remaining sprinkles and set aside.
First dip the donuts into the glaze (wiping off excess on the bowl) and then into the sprinkles (about half way up the donut) giving the donut a slight twist to coat well.

Set on wire rack while finishing the rest.  Here are both sizes of these cutie donuts.

Enjoy!

Serves - 1 dozen regular size and a whole bunch mini :)
