Classic Cherry Pie (Super Simple)

Are you in need of a super simple dessert for this weekend?

Try this Classic Cherry Pie and you'll put a smile on everyone's face.

This recipe will save you time by using canned pie filling and even a store bought crust if you want.

Cherry Pie is one of my hubby's and my favorite pies.  I usually make all my pies from scratch but there is just something about cherry pie filling that always turns out perfect in pie every time.  To be honest, I wouldn't even know how to make cherry pie filling if not for the canned stuff, lol.

Give this pie a try and let me know what you think.

Here' what you need:

1 recipe for a double crust pie crust; homemade or store bought
2 cans Country Cherry pie filling, I use Comstock brand

Pre heat oven to 425 degrees.

Make the pie dough according to the directions (or the package if using store bought) and roll out the bottom piece and place in a 9 inch pie dish.
Pour in the pie filling and set aside.
Roll out the top pie crust and using the rolling pin roll it up onto the pin and unroll over the pie filling for easier placement.

Cut the edge to a 1/2 inch overhang and pinching the two crusts together lightly roll them under and tuck them into the pie dish.  Make a fluted edge or edge of your choice.

Cut a few slits into the top of the crust to vent the heat while cooking.
Bake for 30 minutes then turn the oven to 400 and bake another 15 minutes or until golden brown and the filling is bubbly,
Cool for at least 2 hours, then slice and serve with ice cream. Mmmm mmm.
Nothing better than a fresh slice of Cherry Pie and Ice Cream!

Enjoy!

Serves 1 - 9 inch pie
