Southern Sweet Tea

Now I might not be from the South, can't even be considered Southern California, really, but I do like my Southern Sweet Tea.

What makes Southern Sweet Tea what it is is the sugar that's involved.

And I mean real sugar!  Not that yellow, pink, or blue stuff!

Southern Sweet Tea is just steeped tea with sugar added in and poured over ice. Mmm, mmmm.

It sure is good on a hot summer day and even the hot spring ones we've been having lately too.

Here's what you need:

4 cups boiling water
2 family sized tea bags
1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar, granulated, depending on how sweet you like it
2 quart pitcher filled with ice

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.  Add the two tea bags (with paper piece removed) and boil for 1 minute.

Remove from heat, cover and steep for 10 minutes.
Add sugar and stir until completely dissolved.

Pour over ice and stir.  Keep refrigerated.

Serve over ice with a slice of lemon.
Enjoy!
