Cranberry Orange Scones

This morning felt like the perfect time for some breakfast baking.  The rain started in the wee hours and made it cold and dreary outside.  And what better weather for baking than cold and rainy.

I have been in the mood for scones lately and have been perfecting my recipe over the last few days.

I came across a recipe (not for scones but you'll see where I'm going with this in a minute) a while back that required cake flour and beings as I've never use it I bought a box and decided to give it a try.

Blueberry Mug Cake (or Muffin)

I keep going back and forth with myself whether or not to call this a cake or a muffin.

Technically it has all the same ingredients as a muffin but so do cakes.   And cake sounds better, right?

Coffeehouse Blueberry Scones

Here is the second delicious scone recipe I made last week.  I'm calling them Coffeehouse Blueberry Scones because they remind me of the ones I had at Starbucks when I was in Disneyland. Mmmm mmmm.

Scones are a great treat for breakfast, snack, or even after school.  These are like a light and moist biscuit only better.

Pumpkin Bread Pudding

I have been wanting to try making bread pudding lately (probably the weather, every few days it gets cold and rainy) and so last night I made one with my favorite flavor - Pumpkin :)

I've only tried bread pudding a couple of times and it's one of those desserts that you either like or don't.  I love bread pudding, my hubby not so much.

I love that the whole recipe is basically day old bread and a custard thrown together to make a soft warm delicious dessert.   This one is like an ooey gooey warm pumpkin pie, mmmm mmm.

I have an amazing recipe for Sherry Wine Cake and I figured that was a great place to start for an eggnog loaf cake.

Blueberry Lemon Coconut Muffins

There's just something about fresh warm muffins in the morning that makes you feel extra special.

I love a good homemade muffin and am usually on the lookout for new recipes.

The other day I had been looking for the Craisins at Costco when I came across dried blueberries and decided to give them a try.  I usually only use fresh blueberries for muffins.

Pumpkin Pecan Cinnamon Rolls

To me there's nothing better than the smell of yeast bread rising and baking in the house.

Add to that yumminess the flavor of pumpkin and pecans and it smells absolutely heavenly when these babies are baking.

I have found that a good cinnamon roll is rather easy to make.  It just takes time and patience and a great stand mixer to do most of the work!

Pepperoni Pizza Pull-Apart Bread

I am always looking for new appetizers and snacks to serve during the football season and what better food than pizza?

I always seem to have a loaf or two of Bridgford's ready bake white bread loaves in my freezer just waiting to be made into something scrumptious.

Pumpkin Streusel Muffins

Here is the second of the delicious pumpkin muffins I have made lately and they are just as yummy as the first recipe.

The difference is that these have a streusel topping where as the others have a cinnamon sugar topping.

They are both perfect for breakfast on a cold Fall morning with a steaming cup of tea or coffee or an ice cold glass of milk.

Cinnamon Raisin Bagels

** This recipe and instruction have been updated - October 8th, 2015**

I decided to try my hand at making homemade bagels a while ago because I was buying them fresh every few days for my family and everything tastes better when homemade, right?

Well they turned out pretty good and I've been making them ever since.

Homemade bread making seems intimidating but it really only takes patience and time.

It isn't any harder than baking cooking, you just need to make sure when you start that you have available the amount of time the whole recipe calls for.

Monkey Bread

Have you ever tasted Monkey Bread? And by that I mean the real stuff not the one made with canned biscuits.

This is seriously one of the easiest and most delicious recipes ever!

I always thought Monkey Bread would take forever; making the dough and putting it together, but with a little foresight and a bag of Rhodes frozen dinner rolls you can have this whipped up in a couple of hours.

Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf

I love lemon and I also love loaf bread, quick bread, loaf cake, etc.

So I decided to come up with a lemon loaf that also incorporated poppy seeds be lets face it most lemon loaf have poppy seeds in them and they go together like...well, lemon and poppy seed.

This is a quick and yummy treat you can eat for breakfast (I know this from experience, hehe) or dessert (like last night) or just to take as a quick snack as you're heading out the door.

Homemade Flat Bread

I have finally perfected my Homemade Flat Bread recipe and I'm here to share it with you guys.

I don't really think it needs any kind of introduction.

It's bread (period)

Any kind of bread is a plus in my book. And this stuff is amazing!

I used it for my Greek Chicken Gyros (coming soon) and we used it for some Chicken Fajitas last week and it was just as tasty as a tortilla, just a little fluffier.

I also have a love of bacon and jalapenos....oh and all things cheesy too.   nom nom nom

So I thought, why not take all that deliciousness and combine it all in one recipe so I did and the result was AMAZING!
