I don't think there is a better combination in the whole world than bread and cheese!
There is just something about all that ooey gooey cheese slathered on little cubes of bread that is such a comforting combination. Mmm mmm.
I have made these types of pull aparts for years but my cousin Elena suggested adding some ranch dressing mix and it takes the ordinary to the extraordinary in one bite!
You need this in your life ~ Seriously ~ You'll thank me later :)
Here's what you need:
1 pound round bread loaf, not pre sliced
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup mayo
2 Tbs. Ranch Dressing dip packet (the dry mix), I used Hidden Valley
1 cup Pepper Jack cheese, sliced into thin strips
1 cup Cheddar cheese, sliced into thin strips
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
2 green onions, sliced
Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
Place the bread round on a cutting board and using a bread knife slice rows of about 1 inch wide cutting almost all the way through but leaving the crust intact.
Holding the bread round tightly together slice in the opposite direction (also 1 inch slices) so that you end up with 1 inch cubes all over the loaf. Be careful NOT to slice all the way through the bottom.
In a bowl melt the butter then add all the ingredients except the green onions and sliced cheeses and stir until completely combined.
Generously slather the bread with the butter mixture by holding the slices open and using a spoon or spatula to spread on the mixture. Place the bread round on a double piece of tinfoil large enough to close over the whole bread for cooking.
Place the sliced cheese into all the wedges until almost all have a combination of both cheeses in each row. I always go one way, holding the slices apart, then the other to fill in the slices.
Cover the whole round with the tin foil and place directly on the rack in your oven.
Bake for 30 minutes covered then open the top of the foil and bake an additional 15-30 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and gooey.
Place on a plate and top with the sliced green onions and serve warm.
This appetizer is a hit wherever I take it!
Enjoy ~
