Hot Cocoa Mix

When the cold weather hits, do you snuggle up with a cup of hot cocoa?

I do!  Especially at night when the lights are down and the house is quiet.  That's the best time for Hot Cocoa and a good book.

Here is a recipe I came up with for making homemade hot cocoa instead of that instant stuff.  This has a deep, rich flavor that all the chocoholics out there will love!

Southern Sweet Tea

Now I might not be from the South, can't even be considered Southern California, really, but I do like my Southern Sweet Tea.

What makes Southern Sweet Tea what it is is the sugar that's involved.

And I mean real sugar!  Not that yellow, pink, or blue stuff!

Creamy Oreo Milkshake

While looking for recipes for the Crazy Cooking Challenge this month I came across this recipe over at Domesticated Duchess; a great blog with wonderful recipes.  You should definitely stop by and tell Marina I sent you over :)  While it doesn't qualify for the challenge (no fruit included) I still want to pass it along because it was delish!

This milkshake is definitely for the chocolate lover!  It is made with vanilla ice cream, Oreos AND chocolate syrup!
Here's what you need:

6 whole Oreo cookies
1/2 cup milk, any will work (I use 1%)
1 cup vanilla ice cream
2 Tbs. hot fudge or chocolate syrup, optional
whipped cream for garnish, optional

In the bottom of a blender or bullet blender pour the milk then add the ice cream.

Next add the Oreo cookies and hot fudge or chocolate syrup.

Blend until completely incorporated, then pour into a glass and enjoy!

Yummy Creamy Oreo Milkshake in a frosty glass ~ Mmmmmmm

Serves 1

Enjoy!

Margaritas

My friend Robin is a Pampered Chef consultant and is always giving me wonderful recipes to try, so when she made us these Margaritas for one of my home shows I was very happy to find out just how simple they were to make.  I adapted the recipe to make it my own but the original came from Robin.  You can see her webpage here to order any of the spices I use in my recipes or even if you just want to check out the new catalog.
