What is the difference between Linky Followers and Google Friend Connect? Do I need to sign up for both or just one. Will one be disappearing? I thought I saw that somewhere.
Okay so that was more than one question, but for the rest of you who don't know and are too afraid to ask, I'll just put this out there in blogland and hopefully someone, or everyone, will answer us. And if you actually already knew; then thanks for letting me know, smartypants!
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Hi Michelle! Linky Followers and GFC ARE different. GFC (Google Friend Connect) was removed from non-Blogger blogs last month. Blogger blogs are still showing the GFC widget however so you can keep it for now. There has been some rumblings that it will be permanently removed from all sites in the future but I don't think there has been any official word on that. Linky Followers is pretty much the replacement for GFC for all non-Blogger blogs and seems to be catching on fairly well. I just saw on your blog that you are located in Elk Grove. I live in West Sac so we are so close!
ReplyDeleteTrish,
DeleteThanks so much for the answer. I put both on my blog only because I saw that others had both. And when I sign up to follow others I sometimes follow on just one and sometimes on both. lol I guess I'll start using the Linky Followers more; sounds like they might be around longer.
I have actually found a few other bloggers who also live in the Sac/Foothills area. Glad to know we are all so close :) I've been in Elk Grove for 19 years now. It was itty bitty when we moved in. lol
Hi Michelle! Thanks so much for visiting at The Latest Find! Glad you liked the painted food jars! It's a simple yet fun project, and I love the look of the paint through the glass. Your quiche recipe looks really good! Following you on GFC and Linky Followers! Hopefully GFC will stick around for blogger, but just in case. =) Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteDitto what everyone else said! I use GFC, but if it disappears I'll have to look into Linky. =)

I have GFC, but would add Linky if I could figure out how to do it! In the meantime, I am following you! Every time I try to paste the link, it disappears! :( Patsy
ReplyDeleteHi, Michelle. I have both on my blog, but prefer GFC. My understanding is that if your blog is hosted by blogger, then GFC is available to you. As a blogger AND reader, I prefer Bloglovin' above all else! I cant' figure out how to see who/how many are following on my BlogLovin' account, but I like it nonetheless. I have "how to see who's following you on Bloglovin'" on my "to do" list.
