Spicy Taco Crescents

When we get to our place in the mountains we spend a lot of time with my cousins and we tend to eat a lot of our meals together and watch sports or go exploring together.

During football season we get together and watch the football games and always have something yummy to snack on.

This last season was no different and my cousin Elena came up with these wonderful appetizers that I have made several times since.

These are perfect for an after school snack or weekend nibble after a big breakfast.

Try these for yourself and let me know what you think!

Here's what you need:

1 pound spicy/hot Italian sausage; or ground beef if you don't like spicy
1 package taco seasoning, I use Ortega
3 Tbs. water
8 oz. bag pre shredded Colby Jack cheese, I used about 1/2 the package
2 tubes crescent rolls

Pre heat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside.

In a skillet brown the sausage until completely cooked, about 5 - 7 minutes.

Add the taco seasoning and water and mix well.  Cook for a minute or so then turn off.

Roll the crescent rolls out onto a piece of parchment and flatten a little bit with your fingers. Fill each with a heaping spoonful of meat mixture.
Top with a good pinch of the cheese.
Start the rolling by folding over the extra long side to the middle then roll up like a crescent roll and try not to lose all the filling out the side.

Bake in a preheated oven for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm and enjoy!
I got 12 this time but could easily have gotten all 16 crescents if I used less filling on each one :)

Enjoy!
