Brownie Waffles

I've been wanting to try some different desserts and I thought why not combine two of my favorite things ~ Brownies & Waffles!

This is the perfect canvas for dessert and they can be made in advance, especially if you're like us and like your waffles crispy.

What a fun party idea too ~ Set up a dessert waffle bar with different flavored batters and let your guests make their favorite flavor and top them with fresh fruit, syrups, peanut butter, candy, whipped cream, nuts, etc.

You need these in your life!

Here's what you need:

1 box brownie mix, I use Betty Crocker original supreme with syrup pouch
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup canola oil
2 eggs

Toppings (optional)
whipped cream
sliced fruit
chocolate syrup
ice cream
sprinkles
peanut butter
nuts

In a mixing bowl place all the ingredients and mix until smooth.

Heat the waffle iron.  Spray with cooking spray and pour the correct amount of batter for your machine.  I use a round Belgian waffle iron and it takes about 1/2 cup of batter per waffle.  These seem to use more batter than regular waffles.

When the waffle is cooked place on a plate to cool a few minutes and this will crisp up the waffle.  They are very soft and pillowy when they first come out of the machine and crisp up as they cool down.

Place one quarter of the waffle on a plate and top with whipped cream.

Next place some sliced fruit or topping of your choice on the whipped cream.

Repeat the layers as many times as you like.  I think two sections of waffle with whipped cream and fresh sliced berries is perfect.

Serves - Several

Enjoy!
