Cinnamon Sugar Toast

"What we eat for Breakfast around here"

Tonight while I was making the oatmeal I decided to make a favorite from when I was a kid.  I don't know why I don't make it more often, maybe because we are jam and peanut butter on our toast people, or maybe just because I very rarely think of it, but tonight I was in the mood for Cinnamon Sugar Toast, mmmmm.
Here's what you need:

2 slices white bread
3 tsp. butter or margarine
2 tsp. cinnamon sugar - see below

Cinnamon Sugar  (This recipe makes enough for several servings of Cinnamon Sugar Toast)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Toast bread in toaster then spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Cut and serve.

Serves 1

Enjoy!

  3. When I was a child, I loved waking up to the smell of this in the house. My mom made it under the broiler instead of dual sided toasting. Same concept, just white bread (and really, it needs to be white bread!) on one side, toast on the other...and the sugar slightly caramelized with the butter....OMG - I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow...it's been years! Thanks for stopping by my blog and inviting me to yours
:-) I can see I have LOTS to look at!

  4. I found you via Pinterest. But I had to comment on this post! I was very sick when I was little and had to have a nanny. She made hot tea and cinnamon toast or Sugar Toast for me. Sugar toast is my absolute favorite!!! To make it, you butter bread (I agree with white bread!!!), then sprinkle sugar on top of butter. You need to sprinkle a good bit and it doesn't need to be smooth. Then you pour vanilla in the cap (or teaspoon) and drizzle it onto of the sugar! THIS IS DIVINE!!!!! Thanks for reminding me of my dear sweet Mrs. Davidson!!!
